The NAMI Tech CAFÉ provides computer classes to 360 individuals a year throughout all six regions of San Diego County to those that identify as having a mental illness and their involved family members. It is our belief through learning about how to use computers, participants will be better able to access resources made available to them electronically, and help them lead a self-directed healthy lifestyle.
Class Descripton:
The class consists of 15 hours of basic computer skills training during a six week course. The Curriculum for the course includes:
Participants completing the course have the opportunity to keep the device they learn on during class. The device is to be used for accessing information on health, wellness, and resources to assist in living a self-directed healthy lifestyle. It may be used for accessing housing information, employment, communicating with family members and friends and accessing social media.
